From there you'll visit the stunningly beautiful Snæfellsnes Peninsula. On this tour, you'll get to experience Iceland's unique wellness culture firsthand with a visit to the one of Iceland’s geothermal pools. You'll also have plenty of opportunities to explore some of the country's most incredible natural scenery, including glaciers, waterfalls, volcanoes, and hot springs.

Day 1: Day 1

You start your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour at Keflavík international airport or Reykjavík city. If you landed at the airport, we recommend that you stop at the Blue Lagoon on your way to Reykjavík city and soak in the warm waters. The Blue Lagoon is one of Iceland’s most popular tourist attractions for a good reason. The lagoon’s water is rich in silica and sulphur, which are said to have beneficial effects on the skin.

Day 2: Day 2

On the second day of your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour, you will explore Reykjavík city. Reykjavík is a small city, but there is plenty to see and do. We recommend starting your day by visiting Hallgrímskirkja, Reykjavík’s iconic church. From the church’s tower, you will have a breathtaking view of the city.

Day 3: Day 3

On the third day of your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour, you will leave Reykjavík city and head to Borgarnes. On your way, you will stop at Deildartunguhver, Europe’s most powerful hot spring. Deildartunguhver is located in the Hvítárvatn geothermal area and has a flow rate of 180 litres/second.

Day 4: Day 4

On the fourth day of your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour, you will explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula. Snæfellsnes is a peninsula located in west Iceland and is part of the Snæfellsnes-Borgarfjörður area. The peninsula is home to the Snæfellsjökull National Park, which was established in 2001\.

Day 5: Day 5

On the fifth day of your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour, you will explore the town of Stykkishólmur and the surrounding area.There are a lot of things to explore in Stykkisholmur; boat tours, shopping, lovely restaurants and a beautiful harbour. In the afternoon, we recommend taking a hike to the top of Kirkjufell mountain. Kirkjufell is Iceland’s most photographed mountain, and the views from the top are truly breathtaking.

Day 6: Day 6

On the sixth day of your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour, you will leave Stykkishólmur and head to Reykjavík city. On your way, you will stop at the Glanni waterfall and the Grábrók crater.

Day 7: Day 7

On the seventh and final day of your West Iceland 7 Day Self-drive tour, you will return your rental car at Keflavík international airport and depart Iceland. If you have time before your flight, we recommend exploring Reykjanes peninsula. Reykjanes is a peninsula located in southwest Iceland and is home to the Keflavík International Airport.
