On this 6-day self-drive tour of Northern Iceland, you'll get to experience the unique landscapes and culture of this remote region. You'll start your journey in the charming town of Akureyri, known as the "Capital of the North." From there, you'll explore the stunning Lake Mývatn area, with its volcanoes, geothermal pools, and waterfalls. You'll also get to experience the raw beauty of the Icelandic wilderness, with stops at Dettifoss waterfall and Hvítárvatn lake. This is the perfect way to experience all that Northern Iceland has to offer in a short amount of time.

Day 1: Day 1

After arriving at Keflavík International Airport or Reykjavík city, you'll pick up your rental car and head north towards the town of Akureyri. This drive will take you through some of Iceland's stunning landscapes, so be sure to have your camera ready. You'll spend the night in the Akureyri area.

Day 2: Day 2

On the second day of your trip, you'll explore some of the natural wonders of Northern Iceland. You'll start with a visit to the Illugastaðir seal colony, where you can see these beautiful animals up close. Then, you'll head to the Hvítserkur rock formation, an iconic Icelandic landmark. After that, you'll visit the Kolugljúfur canyon, where you can hike through the stunning scenery. You'll spend the night in the Akureyri area.

Day 3: Day 3

On day three, you'll explore the area around Lake Mývatn. This lake is known for its volcanic activity, and you'll get to see the effects of this up close with a visit to the Skútustaðagígar pseudo-craters. You'll also visit the Dimmuborgir lava field, where you can see the remains of ancient lava flows. After that, you'll relax in the Hverir mud pools, where you can soak in the natural geothermal waters. You'll spend the night in the Húsavík area.

Day 4: Day 4
