This is a 9-day self-drive tour of Iceland's west coast and the Westfjords. The trip starts in Reykjavik, Iceland's capital, and takes you through some of the country's most beautiful scenery. You'll see glaciers, waterfalls, hot springs, and lava fields. You'll also get to experience Icelandic culture firsthand by visiting small towns and villages. And, of course, you'll have plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure, including hiking, biking, and horseback riding. This trip is the perfect way to experience all that Iceland has to offer.

Day 1: Day 1

This adventure starts from Keflavík international airport or Reykjavík city. If you start in Reykjavík city, we recommend that you explore Reykjavík city first. Reykjavík is a charming city with a lot to offer. There are many museums, art galleries, and outdoor activities to enjoy. You can also find a lot of great restaurants and cafes. After a day of exploring, you can relax in one of the many hot springs or geothermal pools

Overnight: Reykjavík city

Day 2: Day 2

On the second day of your trip, you will explore the Snæfellsnes peninsula. This peninsula is known for its beautiful landscapes and its many outdoor activities. You can hike to the top of Arnarstapi, go birdwatching at Djúpalónssandur, or take a walk along the Lónsdrangar cliffs. You can also visit the Kirkjufell mountain, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland

Overnight: Stykkishólmur area

Day 3: Day 3

On the third day of your trip, you will take a boat tour from Stykkishólmur to the Westfjords. This boat tour will take you to the towns of Brjánslækur, Rauðasandur, and Látrabjarg. You can also see the Dynjandi waterfall and the Flateyri village

Overnight: Patreksfjörður area

Day 4: Day 4

On the fourth day of your trip, you will explore the Westfjords. This area is known for its beautiful landscapes and its many outdoor activities. You can hike to the top of the Dynjandi waterfall, go birdwatching at the Látrabjarg cliffs, or take a walk along the Rauðasandur beach. You can also visit the town of Ísafjörður, which is the capital of the Westfjords

Overnight: Ísafjörður area

Day 5: Day 5

On the fifth day of your trip, you will explore the town of Ísafjörður. This town is known for its fishing industry and its many outdoor activities. You can visit the Bolungarvík village, go birdwatching at the Bolafjall viewing point, or take a walk along the Reykjanes beach. You can also visit the Surtshellir lava cave, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland

Overnight: Ísafjörður area

Day 6: Day 6

On the sixth day of your trip, you will continue your exploration of the Westfjords. You will visit the towns of Súðavík and Djúpavík, and you can also take a dip in the Krossneslaug geothermal pool. You can also visit the Hraunfossar and Barnafossar waterfalls, and the Surtshellir lava cave

Overnight: Hólmavík area

Day 7: Day 7

On the seventh day of your trip, you will explore the Strandir area. This area is known for its beautiful landscapes and its many outdoor activities. You can hike to the top of the Djúpavík mountain, go birdwatching at the Krossneslaug geothermal pool, or take a walk along the Rauðasandur beach. You can also visit the Hólmavík village, which is the capital of the Strandir area

Overnight: Hólmavík area

Day 8: Day 8

On the eighth day of your trip, you will explore the Borgarfjörður area. This area is known for its beautiful landscapes and its many outdoor activities. You can hike to the top of the Deildartunguhver hot springs, go birdwatching at the Hraunfossar waterfalls, or take a walk along the Barnafossar waterfalls. You can also visit the Surtshellir lava cave, which is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Iceland

Overnight: Reykjavík city

Day 9: Day 9

On the ninth and final day of your trip, you will return to Keflavík international airport or Reykjavík city, depending on your flight schedule. If you have time, we recommend that you explore Reykjavík city or Reykjanes peninsula. Reykjavík is a charming city with a lot to offer. There are many museums, art galleries, and outdoor activities to enjoy. You can also find a lot of great restaurants and cafes. After a day of exploring, you can relax in one of the many hot springs or geothermal pools. Your Iceland adventure comes to an end.
