Day 1: Day 1
Arrive in Keflavík international airport or Reykjavík city and explore the capital of Iceland! Reykjavík is a charming city with plenty to see and do, from strolling around the quaint old town to checking out the vibrant nightlife. Don't forget to visit some of the city's famous landmarks, such as the Hallgrímskirkja church and the Sun Voyager sculpture. Accommodation in Reykjavík.
Day 2: Day 2
Head north to the Borgarnes area and explore some of Iceland's most famous historic sites and natural wonders. Start with a visit to Reykholt, the home of Icelandic poet and historian Snorri Sturluson. Then, see the Hraunfossar and Barnafoss waterfalls, and finally, the Deildartunguhver hot springs. Day 3: Day 3
Continue north to the Skagafjörður area and explore some of its amazing natural wonders. First, see the Glanni waterfall, then the Grábrók crater. Next, stop at the Illugastaðir seal watching spot, before seeing the Hvítserkur rock formation and the Kolugljúfur canyon. Accommodations in Skagafjörður area.
Day 4: Day 4
Make your way to the Akureyri area, stopping first at the Glaumbær farm and the Hofsós town. Finally, arrive in Siglufjörður, known as the herring capital of Iceland. Accommodations in Akureyri area.
Day 5: Day 5
Spend the day exploring Akureyri, Iceland's second largest city. There's plenty to see and do, from strolling around the charming old town to checking out the botanical garden. Don't forget to visit the Akureyri Art Museum and the Icelandic Folk Museum. Accommodations in Akureyri area.
Day 6: Day 6
Head east to the Mývatn area and explore some of its amazing natural wonders. First, see the Goðafoss waterfall, then the Aldeyjarfoss waterfall. Next, stop at the Mývatn lake, the Skútustaðagígar pseudocraters, the Dimmuborgir lava formations, and finally, the Hverfjall mountain. Accommodations in Mývatn area or Húsavík area.
Day 7: Day 7
Continue east to the Egilsstaðir area and explore some of its amazing natural wonders. First, see the Ásbyrgi canyon, then the Hljóðaklettar rock formation. Next, stop at the Dettifoss waterfall, the Selfoss waterfall, and finally, the Stuðlagil canyon. Accommodations in Egilsstaðir area.
Day 8: Day 8
Head south to the Höfn area, stopping first at the Hengifoss waterfall. Then, see the Skriðuklaustur historic site and the Kárahnjúkar hydropower dam. Accommodations in Höfn area.
Day 9: Day 9
Make your way to the Vík area, stopping first at the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. Then, see the Diamond beach, the Fjallsárlón glacier lagoon, and finally, the Svínafellsjökull outlet glacier. Accommodations in Vík area.
Day 10: Day 10
Head west to the Reykjanes peninsula and explore some of its amazing natural wonders. First, see the Foss á síðu waterfall, then the Systrafoss waterfall. Next, stop at the Fjaðrárgljúfur canyon, and finally, the Reykjanesviti lighthouse. Accommodations in Reykjanes area.
Day 11: Day 11
Make your way back to Reykjavík, stopping first at the Reynisfjara black sand beach. Then, see the Dyrhólaey promontory and the Sólheimasandur plane wreck. Next, stop at the Kvernufoss waterfall and the Skógafoss waterfall. Finally, see the Seljalandsfoss waterfall and the Gljúfrabúi waterfall. Accommodations in Reykjavík city.
Day 12: Day 12
Head north to the Þingvellir national park and explore some of its amazing natural wonders. First, see the Þjófafoss waterfall, then the Gjáin oasis. Next, stop at the Háifoss waterfall, and finally, the Þjóðveldisbærinn the Commonwealth farm. Accommodations in Þingvellir area.
Day 13: Day 13
Head east to the Hvolsvöllur area and explore some of its amazing natural wonders. First, see the Gullfoss waterfall, then the Geysir geothermal area. Finally, see the Þingvellir national park. Accommodations in Hvolsvöllur area.
Day 14: Day 14
Spend the day exploring Reykjavík city or the Reykjanes peninsula. If you have time, visit the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa or the Reykjanesviti lighthouse. Ends at Keflavík international airport. Your Iceland adventure comes to an end.
